Stage 1
Prepare your internet
Five minutes here prevents most of the problems people call us about later.
Run a speed test beside the TV
Do it in the evening, on your phone, in the same spot as the TV. As a rule of thumb, aim for a steady 10 Mbps or more for HD, and 25 Mbps for 4K where available.
Use a cable if you can
If the router is close to the TV, a network cable beats Wi-Fi every time. It costs very little and removes the most common cause of buffering.
If you must use Wi-Fi
Connect to the 5 GHz network when the router is within a room or two. For thick walls or a second floor, the 2.4 GHz band or a mesh point will often work better.
Keep the router on backup power
If your area has regular power cuts, connect the router to your inverter or a small UPS.
Stage 2
Install the player and sign in
The steps are nearly the same on every device. Choose your device for the specifics.
Open your device’s store
Use the official one for your device: the TV’s own store, Google Play, the App Store or the Amazon Appstore.
Install the player we name
We recommend one that suits your device when we send your login. A player only plays things: it does not include any content.
Enter your login
Type or paste it carefully. Our activation page explains each kind of login.
Wait for the list to load
The first load can take a few minutes. Leave it alone until it finishes, then play a channel.
Stage 3
Make it feel like home
- Build a favourites list in the order your family knows
- Set a PIN on categories that you want to keep from children, if your app offers it
- Set your preferred audio and subtitle language
- Write your plan’s end date somewhere you will see it
- For parents, leave a one-page note beside the TV
